Northumberland County Show returns with new Principal Partners

Monday, 14 February 2022

Visitors to the Northumberland County Show are delighted that the much loved agricultural event is returning on Friday 3rd June at Bywell Hall, near Stocksfield. After Covid caused the cancellation of the 2020 and 2021 shows, ambitious plans for the summer comeback involve a new line up of Principal Partners.

Mark Scandle, Chairman of Tynedale Agricultural Society, explained, “We are very grateful to our top level sponsors, this year more than ever. We are thrilled that our longstanding partners, youngsRPS, Muckle LLP and Sage Wealth Management, have stood by us throughout the difficult last two years, and we welcome new partners, Ad Gefrin. Their combined investment provides a strong financial foundation during the planning phases of the Show, enabling it to be bigger and better than ever before.”

The new Visitor Experience and Whisky Distillery in Wooler, Ad Gefrin, is set to become one of Northumberland’s must-visit destinations when it opens in autumn 2022. Founder, Eileen Ferguson explained why the show is a perfect partner for Ad Gefrin, “We are absolutely delighted to be a Principal Sponsor of the Northumberland County Show.  The Ad Gefrin Visitor Experience and Distillery will celebrate the Golden Age of Northumbria when people travelled from all over the world to visit the 7th century royal court at Yeavering. It is synonymous with Northumberland’s age-old hospitality and showcases the very best arts, crafts and produce that contemporary Northumberland has to offer today.  There is therefore a perfect synergy in partnering the County Show that celebrates the very best of our agricultural community with a welcome that draws people from across the region.”

Charles Raine, Director of youngsRPS, echoed these sentiments, “The Northumberland County show is the jewel in the country shows calendar. Visitors to the show will join us in celebrating not only the prime of the region's agricultural industry but also enjoy demonstrations, food, shopping and much, much more.”

Event Organiser, Judy Willis, concluded, “Taking place on the Friday of the Jubilee weekend, the show promises to be a huge celebration with themed competitions and activities throughout the day, and a real excitement about Northumberland’s finest food, farming and landscapes.”

The Northumberland County Show offers opportunities for businesses to showcase their services to over 30,000 visitors. Sponsorship, advertising and trade stand bookings are available until the end of March.
