We are excited about having our first competitive Pig class this year, after a fantastic display of pigs in 2016.
We are unsure if Pigs have ever been shown before, so if anyone has any knowledge or updates for us please contact the office. Word has it that they came to the show as some point prior to the 1960’s when it was the Tyneside Agricultural Show and held at different locations around the county!
Traditional Breeds Section - so we could be seeing: Gloucestershire Old Spot, British Saddleback, Berkshire, British Lop, Large Black, Middle White, British Lop, Oxford Sandy and Black Tamworth.
Modern Breeds – this could include Large White, Landrace, Welsh, Duroc, Hampshire, Pietrain.
The overall Pig Champion will be included in the Grand Parade where the Champion of Champions is decided.
The Judge is Mr Jim Farrington, York.
